u&u Recruitment Partners are pleased to be partnering with well-established, international organisation who are seeking a new Legal Counsel to join their Sydney tam.
Reporting to an experienced Head of Legal, this role offers exposure to a broad range of legal matters and the opportunity to partner closely with key stakeholders across the business.
The Role:
You will play a key role in providing practical, business-focused legal advice across a wide variety of areas, including:
Drafting, reviewing and negotiating a range of commercial contracts (including supply, procurement, IT and leasing agreements);
Advising internal stakeholders across sales, HR, marketing and finance on day-to-day legal issues;
Supporting compliance and regulatory matters, including investigations, complaints handling and engagement with regulators;
Assisting with company secretarial responsibilities and corporate governance processes;
Contributing to the development and improvement of legal templates, processes and frameworks; and
Supporting ad hoc legal matters including disputes, research and internal investigations.
This is a hands-on role offering strong variety and the chance to build breadth across both legal and commercial issues.
About You:
You are a commercially minded lawyer with:
2–5 years’ PQE, ideally gained in a reputable law firm or in-house environment;
Experience in drafting and negotiating commercial contracts;
A pragmatic, solutions-focused approach and strong commercial acumen;
The ability to build relationships and communicate effectively with non-legal stakeholders;
Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities; and
High levels of professionalism, discretion and integrity.
