Our client is seeking a mid-level property lawyer (ideally 4+ years’ PQE) to join its high-performing in-house legal team. Melbourne-based. The Team The legal function comprises approximately 10 lawyers, operating in a flat structure and reporting into a highly regarded General Counsel. The property stream works closely with a senior property and environment lawyer and a broader property team (including several non-legally qualified property specialists). You will also work closely with senior stakeholders across the retail and commercial business units. The Role This position will focus primarily on retail, commercial and industrial property leasing matters, including:

• Sub-leases across major brands;

• Head lease and sub-lease arrangements;

• Commercial and industrial depots;

• Wholesale and dealer site arrangements

• Lease management for large national retail footprints.

The role will suit a lawyer comfortable managing high-volume commercial leasing work while also engaging with broader property-related and contractual matters.

There is scope to expand into general commercial advisory work depending on interest and capability. About You

• 4+ years’ PQE gained in a reputable law firm or in-house environment;

• Strong grounding in property and retail leasing;

• Confident managing matters autonomously;

• Commercially astute, pragmatic and solutions-focused; and

• A self-starter who enjoys stakeholder engagement and ownership of files.
