What Your Role Will Look Like:

With opportunities supporting both the Freight and Parcels business units, the roles are deliberately broad, reflecting the need for versatile legal resources who can move fluidly between commercial transactions, regulatory matters (including consumer law, workplace health and safety and ESG) and governance improvement, often within the same day.

Joining high performing and supportive legal teams led by the respective Parcels and Freight General Counsels, these roles are exceptional opportunities for mid-level commercial lawyers, looking to take their first step in-house, or to build on existing in-house experience, within a company where legal is viewed as a strategic enabler.
 
Key responsibilities include:

Working as part of a collaborative and highly regarded legal team, you will advise across a diverse range of legal matters including:

• Drafting, reviewing and negotiating complex commercial, customer and procurement agreements;

• Advising on competition and consumer law, regulatory compliance, governance and risk management;

• Supporting strategic commercial initiatives, transformation projects and business growth;

• Managing disputes, customer claims and external legal advisers;

• Advising on workplace health and safety, ESG and sustainability matters;

• Partnering with senior leaders across operations, sales, procurement, finance and corporate functions to deliver practical, commercially focused legal advice; and

• Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives, including legal operations, governance frameworks and the use of technology and AI to enhance legal service delivery.

You will bring:

• Approximately 4+ years' post-admission experience, ideally with some background in a top or mid-tier law firm, though candidates from a range of practice settings are encouraged to apply;

• Strong commercial contracting, negotiation and advisory experience;

• Experience advising on regulatory, governance or compliance matters;

• Excellent communication skills with the ability to simplify complex legal issues into practical commercial advice;

• A collaborative, proactive and solutions-focused approach;

• Strong commercial judgement, agile mindset and the ability to balance legal risk with business objectives; and

• The flexibility to manage a broad portfolio of matters in a fast-paced and evolving environment.

Experience within transport, logistics, infrastructure, retail, FMCG or other operational businesses will be well regarded but is not essential.
