Job Details

I’m working with a well-established mid-sized law firm in Sydney that is looking to bring on a senior Legal Secretary / Executive Assistant to support a highly regarded Partner and their team.

This role will suit someone who enjoys being a true right-hand support but still wants to stay hands-on with legal work and be part of a collaborative, down-to-earth team.

The firm has a strong reputation for its work, but what really stands out is the culture, it’s professional without being overly corporate. The team are approachable, social, and enjoy working together. It’s the kind of environment where people know each other by name, and leadership is very present day-to-day.

This is a full-time, office-based role.

The Role

You’ll be supporting a Partner and a small team, acting as a key point of coordination and ensuring everything runs smoothly day-to-day.

This is a varied role where you’ll be across both EA-level responsibilities and hands-on legal support, including:

  • Managing a busy diary, inbox and meeting schedule;

  • Preparing documents, briefs and correspondence;

  • Billing and end-of-month processes;

  • Liaising with clients, barristers and internal stakeholders;

  • File and document management (both electronic and hard copy);

  • Coordinating meetings, conferences and travel; and

  • Supporting a small team of solicitors as needed.

A key part of the role is being able to manage upwards, anticipating the Partner’s needs, staying one step ahead, and keeping priorities on track.

About You

This role is best suited to a senior Legal Secretary looking for more ownership and a closer working relationship with a Partner, without losing the variety of legal work.

You’ll ideally bring:

  • Experience supporting at Partner level within a law firm;

  • The ability to work proactively and manage upwards with confidence;

  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities;

  • Confidence working in a fast-paced environment;

  • Excellent attention to detail; and

  • A proactive, reliable and personable approach.

You’ll also be someone who enjoys being part of a team and contributes positively to the culture.
