If you're a lawyer looking to step out of private practice and into a role where your work makes a difference to people's lives, this one is worth reading.
This is an opportunity to join one of Australia's largest personal injury claims management businesses, supporting all litigation across the Personal Injury Commission on behalf of a major government insurance client.
This is a busy, hands-on role with real variety. Some weeks you will have back-to-back PIC appearances from 9am to 5pm, other days the diary is quieter. The team is experienced, collaborative and enjoys what they do, with some members bringing over 30 years of workers compensation knowledge to the table. Everyone gets involved and helps each other out.
No billable targets. No politics. Just interesting work, direct client contacts and a team that has your back.
What the role will involve:
Managing 5 to 6 litigated matters per week in the Personal Injury Commission;
Handling statutory disputes and work injury damages claims;
Providing legal support and taking instructions from non-lawyers across the business;
Managing external legal providers across the claims portfolio;
Attending client meetings and managing litigation end to end; and
Working within a claims management system and MS Teams.
What they are looking for:
At least 1 year of post-qualification experience in workers compensation or personal injury law;
Familiarity with the Personal Injury Commission jurisdiction;
Experience in statutory disputes and/or work injury damages, strong in one or both;
Applicant side background is absolutely fine;
Insurance background is not essential, what matters is your attitude and ability to hit the ground running;
Someone who can communicate clearly with non-lawyers and work collaboratively across a busy team; and
Friendly, proactive and solutions focused.
Why this one stands out:
Up to $120,000 plus super, depending on experience;
No billable targets;
Rostered day off once a month;
Up to 3 days WFH once settled in, 2 days in the office; and
Direct pathway to complement and grow your legal skills in a meaningful way.
