Reporting to the Group General Counsel, the opportunity will sit at the intersection of legal, technology, data and business transformation. You will be responsible for identifying opportunities to improve legal processes, implementing technology solutions and developing smarter, more efficient ways of working across a geographically dispersed legal and compliance function.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Leading legal technology and systems projects from concept through to implementation;

  • Developing and improving legal workflows, processes, precedents and knowledge management;

  • Identifying opportunities to automate legal processes and improve efficiency;

  • Supporting the implementation and optimisation of legal technology platforms;

  • Managing legal information, data and technical solutions in line with agreed standards;

  • Supporting investigations and providing technical and information-management solutions to the Legal and Compliance teams;

  • Developing systems that improve the retention and accessibility of legal knowledge and institutional memory;

  • Coordinating resources, managing stakeholders and delivering projects on time and to a high standard;

  • Working with internal teams to identify risks, solve problems and develop commercially focused solutions;

  • Building relationships with technology and external service providers and bringing new ideas and market developments into the business; and

  • Educating and supporting the wider business to build capability and adopt smarter ways of working.

About you:

You will be a legal technology, legal operations or information management professional with a strong track record of delivering technology and process improvement initiatives.

You will ideally bring:

  • Broad experience across legal technology, systems and processes;

  • Strong project management and implementation experience;

  • Experience translating technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders;

  • Excellent communication, consulting and stakeholder management skills;

  • A proactive, commercially minded and solutions-focused approach;

  • The ability to manage multiple priorities and work autonomously;

  • Strong MS Office and PDF software skills, with MS Access experience desirable;

  • Familiarity with SQL Server and technologies such as HTML, XML or JSON advantageous;

  • Experience in litigation eDiscovery highly desirable; and

  • A degree or equivalent experience in information management, information technology, project management, computer science or a related discipline.

Legal experience is well regarded but not essential. What is essential is the ability to understand complex business problems, work collaboratively with legal and technology stakeholders, and deliver practical solutions.
