Based in Hastings, your new organisation has grown into a well-established engineering workshop servicing local, interstate and international manufacturers. Well esteemed within the engineering industry, your new company is recognised for its quality workmanship, customer service and timely project delivery, particularly within complex machining, critical machine components and specialist mandrel service and manufacture.

Supported by an experienced management team and a highly skilled team of qualified Machinists and Boilermakers, your new organisation offers a secure, diverse and steadily paced workshop environment. Due to continued growth, your new company is seeking an experienced tradesperson to join the team, offering long-term stability, autonomy and the opportunity to work across a variety of challenging engineering projects.

Your new role

Your new role will see you reporting to the Workshop Manager with hours of work being 7.00am – 3.30pm Monday to Friday. Working within a close-knit team of 14, your role will see you working across a variety of general engineering and custom machining projects for a stable portfolio of blue-chip clients. This is a purely workshop based position offering a consistent 40-hour week (38 hours worked with one accrued RDO per month). Overtime is minimal, allowing you to enjoy an excellent work / life balance.

Your new role will see you:

• Operating manual lathes to produce high-quality custom machined components;

• Manufacturing and repairing one-off and small batch engineering components to customer specifications;

• Reading and interpreting engineering drawings whilst maintaining high quality standards; and

• Working collaboratively within a small, experienced workshop team delivering quality outcomes for long-standing blue-chip clients.

What you need to succeed

• Trade-qualified First Class Manual Machinist with a minimum of 4-5 years post trade experience;

• Demonstrated experience operating manual lathes and machining large, heavy engineering components;

• Experience safely setting up and machining components in excess of 1 metre in length and/or width, utilising overhead cranes to manoeuvre workpieces;

• Forklift Licence required, with an Overhead Crane Ticket viewed as highly advantageous;

• Safety-conscious with a strong commitment to quality workmanship and workshop safety procedures;

• A reliable team player with the ability to work autonomously within a close-knit engineering team; and

• Reside locally to Hastings or surrounding South East suburbs will be viewed as highly advantageous.
