The Role

Lead national payroll across NSW and QLD in a complex, unionised environment. Based in Port Botany, you will oversee end-to-end payroll for a blue- and white-collar workforce of 500 employees, managing enterprise agreements, compliance and payroll transformation.  
 
This is a hands-on leadership role requiring technical expertise, strong governance and the ability to optimise Chris21/Kronos while preparing for future system upgrades. 
 
Key Responsibilities

  • Manage end-to-end national payroll delivery;

  • Ensure compliance with EAs, awards and legislation;

  • Oversee complex backpay and payroll governance;

  • Optimise Chris21 and Kronos systems;

  • Improve payroll processes and controls;

  • Deliver reporting, reconciliation and audits;

  • Partner with HR, Finance and operations;

  • Lead and develop the payroll team of two direct reports; and

  • Support future upgrades and transformation.

About You

  • Senior payroll leadership experience;

  • Strong Chris21 and Kronos capability;

  • Expertise in awards, EAs and compliance;

  • Experience in unionised, complex environments;

  • Systems optimisation or upgrade exposure;

  • Strong governance and attention to detail;

  • Excellent stakeholder management; and

  • Hands-on, resilient and solutions-focused.
