We are partnering with a leading APAC food manufacturing business to appoint a Payroll Manager. Supporting a workforce of approximately 1,800 employees across Australia and New Zealand, this role offers the opportunity to drive payroll governance, workforce analytics and continuous improvement while leading a high-performing team.
The Opportunity
Reporting into the Head of People Services APAC, you will take ownership of payroll oversight across ANZ, ensuring compliance, accuracy and strong governance while providing valuable workforce and labour cost insights to the wider business.
This is a highly visible role, partnering closely with HR, Finance and Operations to support strategic decision-making and improve workforce performance.
You will:
Provide final approval and governance across all payroll activities for Australia and New Zealand;
Lead and develop a team of three payroll professionals;
Drive payroll strategy, controls and continuous improvement initiatives;
Deliver labour cost reporting, variance analysis and workforce insights;
Partner with Finance and Operations to support budgeting and workforce planning;
Oversee payroll systems, data integrity and reporting capability; and
Support ongoing systems transformation, including the transition to UKG Pro.
About You
You are a senior payroll professional with experience operating in a complex, multi-site environment and have moved beyond hands-on processing into a leadership, governance and business partnering capacity.
You will bring:
Extensive payroll leadership experience across large and complex organisations;
Strong knowledge of payroll legislation, compliance and risk management;
Experience delivering payroll costing, reconciliations and month-end reporting;
Exposure to workforce management and time & attendance systems, with UKG Kronos and / or Micropay experience highly regarded;
A collaborative approach and the ability to influence stakeholders across HR, Finance and Operations; and
Previous experience within a 24/7 operational environment will be highly advantageous.
