Green Leaves Early Learning is a premium early education provider committed to creating safe, nurturing environments for children while fostering high performing, engaged teams. The People & Culture Lead plays a pivotal role in the operational delivery of P&C across the organisation, leading Business Partnering and ER / IR functions. This role ensures consistent, compliant and high-quality people practices, while strengthening team capability, systems, data and processes to support sustainable growth and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach and develop the People & Culture Business Partnering and ER / IR teams to deliver high-quality, consistent outcomes;

  • Provide clear direction, prioritisation and delegation across a fast-paced, high-volume environment;

  • Build capability in ER / IR, investigations, stakeholder management and decision-making;

  • Deliver expert guidance on complex and high-risk employee relations matters;

  • Oversee formal processes including investigations, performance management, disciplinary action and terminations;

  • Ensure compliance with employment legislation, including the Fair Work Act and relevant Awards;

  • Lead implementation of legislative, industrial and Award-related changes across the organisation;

  • Partner with Operations and Centre leaders to enhance performance, engagement and culture;

  • Drive continuous improvement across P&C systems, processes, reporting and data insights; and

  • Maintain governance across policies, remuneration, contracts and people-related risk and compliance frameworks.

The Ideal Candidate

You are a seasoned People & Culture leader with deep ER / IR expertise and a pragmatic, solutions-focused approach. You bring strong leadership capability, thrive in operational environments and confidently navigate complexity. With a passion for building team capability and influencing stakeholders, you balance commercial outcomes with compliance and care, ideally within early learning or education.

Key Requirements

  • 8 – 10+ years’ experience across ER / IR and generalist HR, including team leadership;

  • Strong expertise in employment legislation, Award interpretation and pay compliance;

  • Proven experience managing complex employee relations matters and investigations;

  • Demonstrated leadership, stakeholder management and ability to operate in fast-paced environments; and

  • Tertiary qualification in Human Resources, Business or a related discipline.
