About the Organisation

Carers Queensland is a medium-sized, statewide organisation dedicated to improving the lives of unpaid carers and people with disability. Through programs such as the Carer Support Program and NDIS Local Area Coordination, the organisation connects, supports and advocates for carers across Queensland. As the peak body for carers in Queensland, it listens to and amplifies carer voices, drives systemic change and champions equitable community support.

**About the Opportunity

**This is a hands-on People & Culture Business Partner role for a trusted advisor who thrives on being close to the business. Supporting a portfolio of sites in Brisbane’s southern suburbs, you’ll partner with leaders to guide employee relations, build people capability and deliver practical solutions across the employee lifecycle. Regular site travel keeps you connected, visible and impactful. Your key duties will include:

  • Partner with leaders across multiple sites, providing specialist advice on people related matters, fostering fair and positive outcomes with any grievances, investigations, or performance issues in line with Fair Work practices;

  • Coach, mentor and build capability in leaders and teams, promoting consistency and confidence in people practices;

  • Contribute to workforce planning, organisational change and role design to support current and future service needs;

  • Collaborate with People Engagement & Organisational Development on recruitment, leadership development initiatives, engagement and culture-building projects;

  • Ensure compliance with legislation, awards and policies and contribute to HR policy development; and

  • Use people data and insights to identify trends and recommend proactive, practical improvements.

**About You

**You are a motivated People & Culture professional with strong employee relations experience, ready to step into a broader partnering role. You enjoy working closely with leaders, providing practical and hands-on advice, and building capability across teams in a values-driven environment. You will bring:

  • Experience in a Senior People & Culture Advisor or similar role, with exposure to business partnering;

  • Solid working knowledge of Australian employment legislation and contemporary HR practices;

  • Hands-on experience supporting employee relations matters with care, professionalism and sound judgement;

  • Ability to influence, build trust and partner effectively at all levels with a collaborative, authentic style;

  • Strong organisation, resilience and emotional intelligence; and

  • A genuine commitment to inclusion, cultural safety and respectful workplaces.

**Benefits & Culture

**Carers Queensland offers a supportive, inclusive and flexible work environment where your contribution makes a real difference. This full-time role involves regular travel to Brisbane sites and offers hybrid work arrangements where possible, along with:

  • Attractive salary package with NFP salary packaging benefits;

  • Accrued Days Off each month to support work–life balance;

  • Health insurance discounts with Bupa and Medibank;

  • Staff perks including Fitness Passport, electricity and car discounts;

  • Opportunity to grow your business partnering skills within a respected community organisation with 35+ years’ success; and

  • A collaborative, inclusive culture that values diversity, cultural safety and employee wellbeing.
