A well-established commercial construction specialist based in Melbourne is looking for a Project Coordinator to join their growing team.

With over 30 years in the Australian construction industry, this business has built a strong reputation for delivering high-quality commercial fit-outs, refurbishments and new builds, across education, healthcare, sports precincts, hospitality and corporate office projects.

About the Role:

Reporting to the Project Director (VIC), the Project Coordinator will support the delivery of commercial construction projects from preconstruction through to handover, coordinating site teams, subcontractors and consultants to ensure every job comes in on time, on budget and to a high standard.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate design, engineering and planning processes during preconstruction, including risk and feasibility analysis and contract reviews;

  • Develop and maintain project programs, budgets and procurement schedules;

  • Coordinate site teams, subcontractors and consultants throughout project delivery;

  • Act as a key point of contact for clients, architects and other stakeholders;

  • Manage project scope, change requests, variations and claims in line with contract requirements;

  • Monitor quality, safety (OH&S) and environmental compliance on site;

  • Oversee project financials including invoicing, claims and monthly reporting; and

  • Manage a smooth, defect-free handover and post-handover warranty period.

About You:

  • At least 2 years' experience coordinating commercial construction projects of similar size and complexity;

  • Solid understanding of construction methodology, programming and budgeting;

  • Strong communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills;

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management or a related field (or working towards);

  • Construction White Card, First Aid Certificate Level 2 and Certificate III in WHS (or ability to attain);

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Project; experience with Procore, Buildlogic or similar project management software highly regarded; and

  • Current driver's licence and full working rights in Australia.
