Financial Accountant | Project Accounting | APRA-Regulated Environment.

Join a high-performing finance team supporting major business transformation projects within a highly regulated environment. This role is ideal for a technically strong Financial Accountant who enjoys partnering with project teams, ensuring financial governance, and providing commercial insight across significant capital initiatives.

About the Role:

Reporting into Finance, you'll play a key role in the financial management of large-scale projects, including technology transformations, system implementations, and regulatory initiatives. You'll ensure projects remain financially controlled, compliant, and accurately reported throughout their lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage project budgets, forecasts and monthly financial reporting;

• Monitor project expenditure against approved baselines and identify variances;

• Apply AASB accounting standards to determine capitalisation (CapEx) versus operating expenditure (OpEx);

• Complete impairment assessments on project-related assets;

• Prepare insightful financial reporting for project steering committees and senior stakeholders;

• Support compliance with APRA prudential standards and internal financial governance;

• Ensure robust financial controls, data integrity and audit readiness throughout project delivery; and

• Document financial processes and support post-implementation reviews.

About You:

To be successful, you will bring:

• CA or CPA qualification (or nearing completion);

• 3+ years' experience in Financial Accounting, Project Accounting or PMO Finance;

• Experience within banking, insurance, superannuation or another APRA-regulated environment;

• Strong understanding of project accounting, capitalisation principles and financial controls;

• Experience with ERP systems such as SAP or Oracle;

• Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to partner effectively with both finance and project teams; and

• Strong analytical skills with exceptional attention to detail.
