Project Manager – Source to Pay (Ariba)

Utilities Sector | 12-Month Contract | Sydney | Hybrid

We are partnering with a large organisation within the utilities sector to appoint a Project Manager to drive the technology stream of a major Source to Pay transformation program.

This is a high-impact role within a newly structured Finance, Procurement & Supply Chain portfolio, overseeing the optimisation and uplift of the SAP Ariba platform.

This is not a hands-off governance role. The successful candidate will provide strong oversight while also being prepared to roll up their sleeves when required.

The Program

• 18-month transformation program (12-month initial contract);

• Business case approved;

• Moving into the technical solution phase;

• SAP Ariba uplift and optimisation; and

• Strengthening procurement governance, processes and controls.

The Role

As Project Manager, you will:

• Lead the technical stream across the Source to Pay program;

• Drive Ariba optimisation and technical solution design;

• Establish strong governance frameworks;

• Oversee and manage the implementation partner;

• Identify and mitigate delivery risks;

• Prepare SteerCo reporting and executive updates; and

• Work closely with Procurement, Finance and PMO stakeholders.

This role requires someone confident operating across both business and technology domains.

Essential Experience

Recent SAP Ariba experience is critical.

Candidates without recent, hands-on Ariba delivery exposure will not be considered.

You must demonstrate:

• Recent experience leading or overseeing SAP Ariba implementations or optimisation programs;

• Strong enterprise technology delivery background;

• Vendor management experience within large transformation programs;

• Governance and technical oversight capability;

• Experience engaging senior stakeholders (up to executive level); and

• Strong communication and influencing skills.

Industry experience is not required.

Highly Regarded

• Experience across procurement-to-pay transformation programs;

• Exposure to finance systems or data & analytics modules; and

• PMP or PRINCE2 certification;

• Newly formed but experienced internal team;

• Executive visibility;

• Hybrid working (2–3 days in office, Sydney CBD); and

• Immediate start preferred.
