An opportunity is available for an experienced Project Manager to deliver high-profile road reconstruction and streetscape projects within active urban and residential environments.

This role will suit a hands-on, site-based Project Manager with strong civil construction experience who enjoys being on the ground, overseeing works, managing contractors, and engaging directly with the community.

You will support a well-established Project Management Office delivering a diverse Capital Works Program, with the primary focus on road and streetscape construction, alongside selected civil and building projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver road reconstruction and streetscape projects, including pavements, subgrades, kerb and channel, footpaths, drainage, traffic management and public realm upgrades;

  • Maintain a daily on-site presence during active construction works;

  • Personally witness and verify critical construction activities and hold points;

  • Supervise contractors and issue site instructions in accordance with contract conditions;

  • Manage inspections, stage signoffs, defects and rectification;

  • Lead community and stakeholder engagement in live environments;

  • Respond to resident, business and stakeholder enquiries professionally and promptly;

  • Monitor project budgets, variations, progress claims and forecasts;

  • Maintain risk and issue registers with a strong focus on safety, traffic and community impacts;

  • Ensure compliance with governance, reporting, safety and quality requirements; and

  • Coordinate practical completion, asset handover and post-implementation reviews.

About You:

You will bring a practical, delivery-focused approach and be comfortable managing construction works in live environments.

You will ideally have:

  • Proven experience delivering road reconstruction and/or streetscape projects;

  • Strong civil construction knowledge, including pavements, drainage and traffic staging;

  • Demonstrated experience in site-based project management;

  • Ability to manage contractors, hold points and quality inspections;

  • Strong stakeholder and community engagement skills;

  • Experience working within structured governance and reporting frameworks; and

  • Relevant qualifications in Engineering, Construction Management or similar.

If you are a construction-focused Project Manager who enjoys being on site and delivering tangible outcomes for the community, this is an excellent opportunity to contribute to a significant Capital Works Program.
