Your new Company

With a global footprint exporting to countries worldwide, you will be partnering with an organisation that is proudly stocked domestically, in all large retail stores where you’d expect to see premium infant products, strongly positioning itself in over 2000 stores Australia wide.

Your new role

Reporting to the Head of Global Quality and Auditing, your new role as Quality Assurance Team Lead will see you working Monday to Friday 8.30am – 5pm. You will be overseeing quality specifications for raw materials, bulk and finished goods, and ensuring all manufacturing facilities meet agreed production parameters. As the site expands into 24-hour operations, you will support the strategic development of Quality and Food Safety Systems and help embed quality initiatives across the business.

Your role will see you:

  • Maintaining QC procedures to ensure all products meet internal, customer, and regulatory standards;

  • Leading QA/QC employees (team of 3 across day and afternoon shifts and growing) and safeguarding the integrity of all quality systems;

  • Supporting routine sampling, testing and prerequisite programs;

  • Ensuring all baby infant formula ingredients meet specifications prior to manufacture;

  • Overseeing documentation control, change control and SOP improvements;

  • Participating in HACCP meetings and supporting program updates;

  • Driving continuous quality improvement and conducting GMP, internal and verification audits;

  • Supporting external certification requirements (DFSV, ACO, FSSC 22000, HALAL, NASAA);

  • Managing the Food Safety Audit Program and training production teams;

  • Investigating customer complaints and non-conformances, and leading RCA activities;

  • Managing Food Defence, site security and VACCP programs;

  • Assisting in new product trials and first production runs; and

  • Performing routine QC equipment calibration.

You will also ensure all manufacturing partners adhere to managing testing requirements, compliance and analysis requests for products and ingredients. Further to this you will oversee retention samples, QC line checks, manage test results, documentation, and advise Supply Chain on release status or retest needs.

What you need to succeed

  • Degree in Food Science/Technology (or related discipline);

  • 3–5+ years’ experience in a QA leadership role managing QC staff;

  • Strong knowledge of food safety standards;

  • Recent dairy experience (essential) and flexibility and commitment to adhere to audits and willingness to adhere to overtime as needed;

  • Competency across MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint);

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills;

  • Ability to translate data into insights and solutions; and

  • Demonstrate full work rights, and permanent residency status / citizenship;
