Our client, a leading national business is looking for an experienced Regional Sales Manager to lead its NSW/ACT region, combining hands-on business development with leadership of an established sales team.
This is a key leadership role responsible for driving regional growth, developing strategic customer relationships and leading a team of Business Development Managers across Sydney, Newcastle and the ACT. It will suit someone who enjoys being in market, building strong client partnerships, identifying new opportunities and coaching a team to high performance.
The opportunity
In this role, you will be responsible for both personally driving revenue growth and leading a team of BDMs across the region. You will play a critical role in expanding market presence, strengthening customer relationships and delivering a strong commercial result across a multi-branch operation.
Key responsibilities
Lead, coach and develop a team of Business Development Managers across NSW/ACT;
Drive new business growth across key sectors including major infrastructure, civil construction and commercial construction;
Develop and execute regional sales strategies aligned to broader national objectives;
Identify and pursue new market, customer and territory growth opportunities;
Manage key client relationships and act as an escalation point for complex commercial matters;
Work closely with internal operations and customer service teams to ensure a strong end-to-end customer experience;
Partner on tenders, submissions and strategic account activity;
Monitor sales performance, pipeline health, forecasting and CRM usage across the team; and
Maintain a strong personal presence in the market and build long-term relationships with key stakeholders.
About you
To be successful in this role, you will bring a strong blend of sales leadership, strategic business development and industry credibility. You are commercially astute, highly relationship-driven and comfortable operating in a fast-paced, operationally led environment.
Our client is looking for:
Significant experience in sales and business development, including proven leadership experience;
A strong network across Tier 1 infrastructure, civil construction and/or commercial construction;
Demonstrated success growing revenue, winning new business and expanding market share;
Experience leading, mentoring and developing high-performing sales teams;
Strong commercial acumen and the ability to think strategically while still remaining hands-on; and
Confidence managing key accounts, tenders and complex customer relationships.
