Our client, a high-growth, ASX-listed financial services group is seeking a Risk Business Partner to join its Risk & Compliance function. The organisation is a regulated life insurance provider with a strong track record of delivering innovative, tax-effective investment and wealth solutions to the Australian market.
This is a key second line role reporting to the Chief Risk Officer, offering the opportunity to partner closely with the business and play a meaningful role in strengthening risk frameworks. The role works closely with a senior Risk Manager and newly appointed Chief Risk Officer.
The Opportunity:
Working within an experienced Risk, Legal & Compliance team, you will act as a trusted adviser to the business, providing independent oversight and challenge while supporting the continued uplift of the organisation’s risk maturity.
This role is ideal for someone looking to deepen their experience in an APRA-regulated environment and gain exposure across both Line 1 and Line 2 risk frameworks.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide second line oversight and challenge across business activities, with a focus on investment-related risk;
Support and administer the organisation’s risk and compliance systems, including risk attestation processes;
Assist in enhancing Line 1 and Line 2 risk reporting frameworks;
Partner with business units to embed and uplift risk and compliance capability;
Act as a key Line 2 escalation point, triaging and advising on risk and compliance matters; and
Contribute to the ongoing development of risk frameworks, policies, and governance processes.
Experience & Requirements:
3+ years’ experience in risk and compliance within financial services;
Experience in, or strong exposure to, a Line 2 risk function;
Solid understanding of risk management frameworks and controls;
Familiarity with APRA and ASIC regulatory environments;
Proven ability to partner with Line 1 while maintaining independence; and
Relevant tertiary qualification in finance, risk, law, or related discipline.
