About the Role:
A nationally operating Insurance & Financial Services business is seeking an experienced Risk & Compliance Manager to lead and embed robust risk and compliance frameworks across the organisation.
Reporting to the CFO and managing a small specialist team, this role plays a critical part in balancing regulatory rigour with commercial outcomes in a complex, regulated environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Own and lead the organisation’s enterprise risk and compliance frameworks, ensuring alignment with regulatory obligations, risk appetite, and commercial objectives;
Identify, assess and manage material operational, regulatory and compliance risks, including oversight of risk mitigation strategies and controls;
Provide risk and compliance input into new products, projects and process changes;
Maintain oversight of legislative and regulatory change, ensuring timely and practical responses across the business;
Lead regulatory, governance and stakeholder reporting to Executive, Board and regulators;
Foster a strong risk-aware and compliant culture through leadership, engagement and capability development; and
Lead, coach and develop a small specialist team, promoting accountability and high performance.
What We’re Looking For:
RG146 compliance qualification (Diploma or Certificate);
Relevant tertiary qualifications in law, finance, risk, compliance, or a related discipline (postgraduate desirable);
Extensive experience in a senior risk and/or compliance role within financial services;
Exposure to life insurance, lending, or similarly regulated environments is strongly preferred; and
Demonstrated experience designing and operating enterprise-wide risk and compliance frameworks.
