Are you an experienced Security Architect with a strong Defence and DISP background?
This is an opportunity to play a critical role in a dedicated security program supporting highly sensitive environments. You’ll help design and embed security architectures aligned to DISP and ISM requirements, supporting accreditation readiness within a complex, mission-critical setting.
About the Role:
Joining a specialist security program within a large, enterprise environment, you’ll act as a key security architecture authority across a defined, high-assurance platform. Working closely with Enterprise Architecture, program leadership, and security SMEs, you’ll translate Defence security requirements into practical, defensible architectures that support delivery outcomes.
In this role, you will:
Design and uplift security architectures aligned to DISP and ISM Protected requirements;
Lead security architecture inputs across a dedicated, program-based environment;
Perform gap assessments against ISM controls and define remediation roadmaps;
Produce accreditation-ready artefacts including HLDs, SLDs, threat models and security patterns;
Collaborate closely with Enterprise Architects, program leadership and security SMEs;
Support DISP accreditation activities from an ICT and architecture perspective; and
Embed secure-by-design and zero-trust principles into solution design.
About You:
Current NV1 clearance (mandatory);
Proven experience delivering security architecture within Defence, Federal Government or Defence-aligned environments;
Strong working knowledge of DISP, ISM controls, and IRAP-style accreditation processes;
Experience translating security controls into pragmatic, implementable architectures;
Confidence operating in program-based delivery environments with senior stakeholders; and
Exposure to complex enterprise platforms (e.g. telecommunications or large integrated systems) is advantageous but not essential.
This is a contract opportunity, daily rate negotiable, depending on prior skills and experience. This will be a 12-month contract initially with an opportunity to extend. You’ll work within a mature security and architecture landscape on work that is nationally significant and technically challenging.
