An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Senior Accountant to join a values-driven, growing organisation.
This is a 6-month fixed term contract with a genuine possibility of permanent employment, offering exposure to senior leadership and the opportunity to make a meaningful impact.
The Opportunity
As Senior Accountant, you will be a trusted finance partner to the CFO, overseeing end-to-end financial operations, reporting and compliance. You will contribute to financial sustainability while supporting a mission-led organisation underpinned by collaboration, integrity, excellence and compassion.
Key Responsibilities
Manage payroll, accounts payable and receivable, reconciliations and payment runs;
Prepare monthly financial statements, balance sheet reconciliations and cash flow forecasts;
Analyse financial performance and provide insights to support executive decision-making;
Prepare and lodge BAS, IAS, payroll tax and other statutory returns;
Ensure compliance with Australian Accounting Standards and relevant legislation;
Assist with budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis;
Support audits and liaise with external accountants; and
Identify and implement process and system improvements.
About You
Studying towards or CA or CPA qualified with a tertiary qualification in Accounting or Finance;
Minimum 5 years’ experience in a senior accounting or similar role;
Strong knowledge of Australian Accounting Standards and tax legislation;
Hands-on experience with accounting systems (Xero, MYOB or similar) and advanced Excel skills;
High attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving capability; and
Confident communicator with the ability to engage effectively at all levels.
