Our client is a leading international law firm with a highly regarded commercial litigation practice in Brisbane. Known for its depth of expertise, collaborative culture, and long-term approach to talent development, the firm advises a broad mix of private clients and corporates on complex disputes. The litigation team is recognised internally for its variety of work, strong client relationships, and commitment to developing future leaders of the practice.
The Role
This opportunity is suitable for an experienced litigator to step into a pivotal role within the team. Working closely with the lead Partner, you will:
Act on a wide range of commercial litigation matters including injunctions, restraint of trade, contractual disputes, joint venture disputes, equitable claims, leasing and property-related disputes;
Run matters with a high degree of autonomy while supervising and mentoring junior lawyers;
Work across disputes ranging from lower-value commercial claims through to significant, complex matters;
Collaborate closely with corporate and real estate teams on disputes and pre-dispute advisory work; and
Contribute to business development initiatives and the ongoing growth of the practice.
This is a role for someone who enjoys variety, responsibility, and being embedded in the strategic direction of a litigation practice.
About You
You will:
Have a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) or equivalent, admitted in Australia;
Have a Minimum of 6 years’ post-qualification experience in commercial litigation;
Strong technical capability across a broad range of dispute types;
Experience supervising junior lawyers and managing matters efficiently;
A genuine interest in business development and long-term practice growth; and
A collaborative and personable working style.
