Benefits
Broad scope across disputes with genuine autonomy;
Access to complex disputes for leading global and domestic clients;
International platform with opportunities for cross-border collaboration;
Collegiate, high-trust culture focused on quality;
Flexible working and strong wellbeing support; and
Generous parental leave, learning and development programs and global mobility options.
The Company
Our client is a large global law firm with a longstanding reputation for excellence in complex disputes. With a deep bench globally and a strong Brisbane presence, the firm operates as a fully integrated platform across major financial and commercial centres.
The litigation practice advises leading domestic and international clients on their most sensitive and strategically important matters. Locally, the Brisbane team forms part of a broader national disputes group, with lawyers staffed flexibly across matters based on expertise and judgment rather than rigid team structures. The firm has significant momentum through ongoing global expansion, offering senior lawyers access to premium work, international collaboration and a stable long-term platform.
The Role
This is an established Senior Associate role, intended for a lawyer that is comfortable operating at that level but looking to deepen their capability with an elite firm.
You will work closely with senior Partners and embed deeply on matters rather than being spread thinly across teams. The practice is litigation-heavy with a number of Supreme Court matters underway.
Key areas of work include:
Commercial litigation and complex contractual disputes;
Property, construction and infrastructure-related disputes;
Class actions and large-scale, multi-party proceedings;
Mining, resources and energy-related litigation; and
Strategic advisory support to front-end teams, including Corporate and Real Estate.
About You
You are a confident litigator with 5+ years’ PQE, comfortable running matters independently and exercising sound judgment on complex disputes. You value depth of involvement, clear thinking and strong client engagement over volume or optics.
You will likely bring:
Experience across a range of disputes or a genuine willingness to broaden your CV;
Supreme Court experience;
Strong written advocacy and sound academic foundations; and
The confidence to work closely with Partners and clients.
Top-tier training is advantageous but not essential. Strong mid-tier litigators are encouraged to apply and overseas returners are welcome. This role suits someone settled at Senior Associate level and focused on capability, judgment and platform rather than Partnership-track, though the practice is expected to support continued growth.
