We're partnering with a large enterprise organisation undertaking a significant cloud transformation and platform modernisation journey. As they continue to invest heavily in Microsoft Azure, they are looking for a Senior Azure Cloud Platform Engineer to play a key role in building and evolving a secure, scalable, and highly automated cloud platform that supports critical business systems and future growth.

This is an opportunity for someone who enjoys working at the engineering level while also influencing platform standards, cloud governance, automation practices, and the overall developer experience across the business.

The Opportunity

Joining a high-performing Cloud Platform team, you'll be responsible for designing, implementing, and supporting enterprise-scale Azure infrastructure, with a strong focus on automation, Infrastructure as Code, DevOps practices, and cloud governance.

You'll help create reusable cloud patterns, self-service capabilities, and platform guardrails that enable application teams to move faster while maintaining security, compliance, and operational excellence.

This role will suit someone who enjoys solving complex technical challenges, driving continuous improvement, and contributing to the development of a modern cloud platform that will support the organisation for years to come.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement scalable Azure infrastructure solutions across compute, networking, storage, and identity services;

  • Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code using tools such as Terraform, Bicep, and ARM templates;

  • Build and enhance CI/CD pipelines to automate provisioning, deployments, and platform operations;

  • Implement Azure security best practices, including RBAC, network security, policy management, and compliance controls;

  • Drive platform reliability through monitoring, logging, alerting, and performance optimisation;

  • Partner with architects, application teams, and operational stakeholders to deliver cloud-native solutions;

  • Support cloud migration and modernisation initiatives across the broader business;

  • Develop reusable templates, documentation, and platform standards to support self-service adoption;

  • Participate in disaster recovery planning, testing, and resilience initiatives; and

  • Mentor engineers and contribute to knowledge sharing within the team.

About You

We're looking for a cloud engineer who combines deep Azure expertise with a strong automation mindset and a passion for building platforms that scale.

You will bring:

  • Extensive hands-on experience designing and supporting Microsoft Azure environments;

  • Strong experience with Infrastructure as Code, ideally Terraform and/or Bicep;

  • Experience building and managing CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, or similar tooling;

  • Strong scripting skills across PowerShell, Python, or Bash;

  • Solid understanding of Azure networking, identity, security, and governance;

  • Experience implementing monitoring and observability solutions using Azure-native tooling;

  • Knowledge of cloud security frameworks and compliance standards such as ISO 27001, NIST, or CIS;

  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills; and

  • A proactive approach to continuous improvement and platform engineering best practices.

Desirable

  • Microsoft Azure certifications such as Azure Administrator, Azure Solutions Architect, or DevOps Engineer;

  • Experience with FinOps, cloud cost optimisation, and governance frameworks;

  • Exposure to enterprise-scale cloud migration and transformation programs; and

  • ITIL certification or experience working within mature service management environments.

Why Apply?

This is a rare opportunity to join a business making significant investment in its cloud capabilities, where you'll have genuine influence over platform direction, engineering standards, and cloud adoption across the organisation.

You'll be working with modern technologies, solving complex technical challenges, and helping shape the future of a cloud platform that supports critical enterprise service.
