Our client is a Financial Services organisation is on the lookout for a Senior Data Engineer with expertise in Python, Azure and SQL on a 6-month fixed term contract, paying $200,000 including Super. 
 
Your Responsibilities:

• Lead the solution design for the migration of existing business and data warehouse processes from on-premises SQL Server to Azure. Lead the implementation of the solution with support from the data analyst;

• Utilize best of breed tools (e.g. Python, Data Factory, and SQL) for the design, construction and optimization of the data pipeline architecture;

• Design and implement orchestration workflows in Azure for data process automation;

• Redesign key business processes (e.g. commissions process) as well as regulatory and internal reporting processes;

• Collaborate closely with the project data analyst, the IT team (as well as other members of the portfolio insights team) to ensure the successful migration of business and other processes; and

• Ensure continuity and integrity of data provisioning during the migration.

About You:

• 5 + years of demonstrable experience in design, build and support of data engineering pipelines in the MS Azure, SQL data warehousing, ETL, data ingestion, cleansing, manipulation and modelling;

• 2+ years of solid Python experience; and

• Strong knowledge and extensive experience in implementing data engineering.
