Reporting to the Executive Director, you will lead the planning, management and continuous improvement of central queensland depot facilities.

Working closely with operational teams, internal facilities specialists and external service providers, you will ensure facilities are safe, compliant, cost-effective and fit for purpose.

This is a senior advisory position with no direct reports. It would suit an experienced facilities, property or asset management professional who is comfortable balancing strategic advice with practical operational delivery.

Key responsibilities:

  • Provide authoritative advice to senior leaders on facilities strategy, asset utilisation and infrastructure investment priorities;

  • Coordinate building maintenance, contractor performance and capital improvement projects;

  • Ensure facilities meet relevant legislative, safety, compliance and departmental requirements;

  • Identify opportunities to improve facility performance, service delivery and cost effectiveness;

  • Prepare executive correspondence, briefing notes, reports and project documentation;

  • Build productive relationships with operational teams, internal stakeholders and external service providers; and

  • Support the delivery of Queensland Government accommodation and broader organisational strategies.

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

  • Demonstrated experience in facilities, property, building maintenance, accommodation, workplace or asset management;

  • Experience managing facilities across multiple locations or operational sites;

  • Strong knowledge of facilities maintenance, contractor management and capital works delivery;

  • The ability to provide practical and strategic advice to senior stakeholders;

  • Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills;

  • Well-developed analytical, problem-solving and continuous improvement capabilities;

  • Experience preparing briefs, reports, correspondence and project documentation;

  • The ability to work independently and manage competing operational priorities; and

  • A customer-focused and collaborative approach.

Experience within government, transport, infrastructure, construction, utilities or another complex operational environment will be highly regarded.

Mandatory requirements

  • Current Queensland C class driver licence;

  • Ability to travel across Central Queensland, including travel to the surrounding regions; and

  • Ability to successfully complete a criminal history check.
