This senior leadership role is responsible for leading all Industrial and Employee Relations matters across Australia and New Zealand within a complex, unionised environment. Reporting to the Director HR & Workplace, the position drives enterprise bargaining, workplace investigations, Fair Work matters, industrial disputes, compliance initiatives and strategic IR / ER capability. The role partners closely with executive leaders to deliver commercially focused, compliant and business-aligned people outcomes**.**

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead all IR / ER matters including complex case management, investigations and disciplinary processes;

  • Manage Enterprise Bargaining Agreement negotiations, interpretation and implementation activities;

  • Represent the organisation in Fair Work Commission matters, disputes and industrial action proceedings;

  • Review and maintain IR frameworks, policies and procedures to ensure legislative compliance;

  • Provide strategic IR / ER advice and coaching to business leaders, HR teams and stakeholders;

  • Monitor legislative changes and deliver updates, briefings and recommendations across the business;

  • Support organisational projects and contribute to broader HR & Workplace strategic initiatives; and

  • Build constructive relationships with unions and external stakeholders to support long-term outcomes.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate is a commercially minded IR specialist with extensive experience managing complex ER / IR matters within large, matrixed or unionised organisations. They are a confident communicator and trusted advisor, capable of influencing stakeholders, leading negotiations and delivering pragmatic, compliant and business-focused outcomes.

Key Requirements

  • Minimum five years’ experience in Industrial Relations, Employee Relations, HR or Employment Law;

  • Proven experience leading EBA negotiations across complex or unionised environments;

  • Strong knowledge of Australian employment legislation, awards and Fair Work processes;

  • Experience implementing and maintaining IR frameworks, policies and governance structures;

  • Demonstrated ability managing workplace investigations, disciplinary matters and complex case management;

  • Ability to coach and influence leaders, HR teams and stakeholders through ER / IR matters;

  • Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources, Business, Psychology, Law or a related discipline; and

  • Exceptional communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills within complex organisations.
