Job Details

An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Legal Assistant to join a Sydney-based Competition, Regulatory & Risk practice within a leading national law firm.

This role will see you supporting a busy Partner and Special Counsel in a fast-paced practice. The Partner travels frequently and maintains a full, complex diary, so this role will suit someone who is highly organised, proactive, and comfortable staying one step ahead. You’ll be trusted to anticipate needs, manage competing priorities, and act as a true right-hand support.

You’ll also be part of a collaborative and supportive team, working on interesting and varied matters across the practice.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Proactive diary management, scheduling and coordination;

  • Opening and closing files;

  • Court filing and document preparation;

  • Billing and expense reconciliation;

  • File management and archiving;

  • Client liaison and phone management; and

  • General administrative and team support.

About You

This role will suit a senior Legal Assistant who enjoys building strong working relationships and partnering closely with fee earners.

You’ll bring:

  • At least 2+ years’ experience as a Legal Assistant, ideally in a litigation or regulatory environment;

  • Confidence supporting senior fee earners in a busy practice;

  • Excellent diary management and organisational skills;

  • A proactive mindset and the ability to anticipate needs;

  • Strong attention to detail and communication skills; and

  • Confidence prioritising work in a fast-moving environment.

Benefits

  • Flexible working arrangements with 1 day WFH;

  • A collaborative and inclusive team environment with career progression opportunities; and

  • Health and well-being initiatives, including discounted health insurance and gym memberships.
