Our client is growing their risk & compliance team and are hiring a newly created Senior Manager – Compliance & Regulatory Change.
The role will take ownership of the Compliance Management Framework and play a key role in ensuring the organisation maintains a proactive, risk-based approach to regulatory obligations and emerging requirements.
Key responsibilities will include:
Owning and continuously improving the Compliance Management Framework;
Leading risk-based compliance monitoring, assurance and thematic reviews;
Managing the regulatory obligations register and associated controls, ownership and attestations;
Leading the end-to-end regulatory change process, from horizon scanning and impact assessment through to implementation and closure;
Monitoring regulatory developments across APRA, ASIC, AUSTRAC, Treasury, OAIC and AFCA;
Providing independent second-line oversight and constructive challenge of material compliance risks;
Overseeing compliance incidents, breaches, issues and remediation activities;
Challenging investigation quality, root-cause analysis, reportability assessments and remediation outcomes;
Supporting regulatory notifications and ensuring robust governance and decision-making records;
Identifying systemic issues through trend and thematic analysis;
Supporting the development and governance of risk and compliance policies, frameworks and standards; and
Preparing high-quality reporting and insights for Executive and Board-level stakeholder.
About you
You will be an experienced compliance, risk, regulatory or legal professional with a strong understanding of the Australian financial services regulatory environment.
You will ideally bring:
5+ years' experience in compliance, regulatory affairs, risk management or regulatory change within financial services, insurance, banking, superannuation or another APRA-regulated environment;
Demonstrated experience managing compliance frameworks, regulatory obligations and regulatory change;
Strong experience in incident, breach and remediation management; and
The ability to interpret regulatory requirements and translate them into practical business outcomes.
