The Role
We have partnered with a key client of ours to recruit a Senior Payroll Officer on a 12-month max term contract. This role is based onsite out of the Botany office with free parking available.
You will be supporting the Payroll Manager, helping deliver end-to-end payroll across a blue- and white-collar workforce of approximately 500 employees across NSW and QLD.
If you are a hands-on payroll professional with strong technical capability across awards, enterprise agreements, reconciliations and payroll systems, this will be a great opportunity for you with an opportunity to start immediately.
Key Responsibilities
Support end-to-end payroll processing across NSW and QLD;
Ensure payroll is processed accurately and in line with awards, enterprise agreements and legislation;
Assist with payroll reconciliations, reporting and audit requirements;
Manage payroll queries from employees and internal stakeholders;
Support the processing of adjustments and payroll variations;
Maintain payroll data integrity across Chris21 and Kronos;
Assist with identifying and implementing payroll process improvements;
Work closely with HR, Finance and operational stakeholders to resolve payroll issues;
Support compliance, governance and documentation across the payroll function; and
Provide day-to-day support to the Payroll Manager and broader payroll team.
About You
Proven experience in a Senior Payroll Officer or similar payroll role;
Strong end-to-end payroll capability in a complex environment;
Experience working with Chris21 and/or Kronos;
Sound understanding of awards, enterprise agreements and payroll compliance;
Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills and payroll accuracy; and
Hands-on, reliable and able to manage competing priorities.
