We are currently partnering with a leading organisation within the higher education sector to recruit a Payroll Consultant. This is an opportunity to take ownership of a dedicated portfolio, provide expert payroll advice and contribute to continuous improvement across a complex payroll environment.

About the Role

As Payroll Consultant, you will provide payroll advice and support to employees and managers, while ensuring the accurate and timely processing of a fortnightly payroll.

You will be responsible for:

  • Processing and maintaining accurate payroll and HR master data across a diverse employee population;

  • Providing advice and guidance on complex payroll matters, entitlements and legislative requirements;

  • Supporting terminations, redundancies, severance calculations and employee benefits;

  • Managing payroll-related matters including superannuation, WorkCover, salary packaging and taxation requirements;

  • Investigating and resolving data integrity issues, ensuring strong audit and compliance outcomes;

  • Supporting payroll projects, system testing, change initiatives and continuous improvement; and

  • Building strong relationships with internal stakeholders and acting as a trusted payroll partner.

About You

You will be an experienced payroll professional who enjoys working in a complex environment and is confident navigating legislation, enterprise agreements and payroll systems.

You will bring:

  • Demonstrated experience in end-to-end payroll and/or payroll master data management;

  • Strong knowledge of payroll legislation, entitlements and compliance requirements;

  • Experience managing complex payroll queries and providing practical advice to stakeholders;

  • The ability to build effective relationships and communicate complex information clearly; and

  • A continuous improvement mindset and the confidence to identify opportunities to improve payroll processes.

What’s on Offer?

  • Competitive salary $104,000 – $113,000 + 17% superannuation;

  • Permanent position;

  • 2 days working from home;

  • Join an established and collaborative payroll team; and

  • Genuine opportunity to contribute to process improvement and payroll projects.

If you’re looking for your next payroll opportunity where you can make an impact beyond the pay run, we’d love to hear from you.
