An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Senior ServiceNow Developer to join a large Queensland Government department as part of a major Digital and Technology transformation program. This program is delivering critical, enterprise wide improvements across service management, automation, and platform integration, supporting thousands of users across the state.
You will be a key contributor within a high performing Digital Innovation Division, working on complex and meaningful solutions that directly improve service delivery, operational efficiency, and customer outcomes.
The role
As the Senior ServiceNow Developer, you will play a pivotal role in designing, developing, and delivering automated solutions on the ServiceNow platform. You will work closely with technical and business stakeholders to translate requirements into robust, scalable, and secure solutions, while also providing technical leadership and guidance to the broader team.
Key responsibilities
Design, develop, test, release, and support complex automated solutions on the ServiceNow platform;
Provide operational and administrative support for the departments ServiceNow environment;
Deliver system to system integrations using ServiceNow Integration Hub, MID Servers, and custom APIs;
Lead and contribute to the design and documentation of technical solutions that support automated service offerings;
Provide technical advice and recommendations to improve business outcomes and operational efficiency;
Build strong collaborative relationships across the Digital Innovation Division and broader business units; and
Support continuous improvement through reusable, enterprise grade solution design.
Skills and experience
Strong hands on experience developing on the ServiceNow platform;
Proficiency in .NET and PowerShell;
Proven experience with REST, SOAP, JDBC, custom APIs, and integration design;
Deep expertise with ServiceNow Integration Hub, Flow Designer, custom Spoke and Action development;
Experience configuring and managing MID Servers for secure system connectivity;
Knowledge of message based integrations such as Apache Kafka via Stream Connect;
Strong stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to communicate effectively across technical and non technical audiences;
Experience working within large scale or public sector environments will be highly regarded;
Ability to work autonomously, manage ambiguity, and deliver outcomes under tight timeframes; and
Agile mindset with a positive, collaborative approach to teamwork.
Mandatory requirements
Undergraduate degree in Information Technology or Software Engineering;
ServiceNow Certified System Administrator with a minimum of five years hands on experience;
Strong experience across Service Catalog, Integration Hub, Web APIs, MID Servers, and SDLC practices; and
ITIL certification with at least five years practical experience.
