A high-growth fintech is building systems that directly impact how everyday Australians access and manage their finances - from lending and payments to real-time decisioning.

This is a hands-on senior engineering role in a small, high-performing squad where your work will shape real systems in production, not sit behind layers of process.

The Role

You’ll join a cross-functional team working on a core lending platform, contributing across design, build, and run.

This is not a ticket-driven environment. You’ll be expected to:

• Own services end-to-end;

• Contribute to system design and architecture decisions;

• Improve how the team builds, tests, and delivers software; and

• Work closely with product and engineering peers to solve real-world problems.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Designing and building scalable backend services and APIs;

• Working across a mixed stack of Node.js (TypeScript) and .NET Core;

• Contributing to microservices and event-driven architectures;

• Deploying and running systems in AWS environments;

• Supporting production systems, troubleshooting issues, and improving reliability; and

• Mentoring junior engineers and helping lift team standards.

Tech Stack

• Backend: Node.js (TypeScript), C# / .NET Core;

• Frontend: React (supporting work, not core focus);

• Cloud: AWS; and

• Infrastructure: Docker, microservices.

What We’re Looking For

• Strong experience building backend systems in production;

• Comfortable working across both Node.js and .NET;

• Solid understanding of system design, APIs, and distributed systems;

• Ability to think through problems and explain trade-offs clearly; and

• Experience working in collaborative, team-first environments.

Nice to have

• Experience in financial services or regulated environments; and

• Exposure to event-driven architectures.

Package & Benefits

• Up to $160k–$165k base + super; and
