u&u are partnering with a leading engineering consultancy to find an experienced Structural Engineer for their Adelaide team.

This is a permanent, full-time role suited to someone with 5 to 10 years' experience, ideally with a strong background in temporary works design, construction methodology, and sequencing.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Designing and documenting temporary works, including formwork, falsework, shoring, propping, crane bases, and access platforms;

  • Developing construction methodologies and sequencing plans alongside site teams and contractors;

  • Carrying out detailed structural analysis to ensure designs are safe, compliant, and buildable;

  • Assessing how materials behave and perform under construction-stage conditions;

  • Preparing and reviewing concept, schematic, and detailed temporary works designs;

  • Visiting sites to carry out inspections, support construction teams, and provide hands-on engineering guidance;

  • Working closely with engineers, drafters, and consultants to deliver coordinated solutions;

  • Reviewing technical reports, drawings, and calculations for quality and accuracy;

  • Connecting with colleagues across Adelaide, Melbourne, Perth, and other offices to support projects nationally; and

  • Contributing to high-quality construction and temporary works documentation.

What You'll Bring:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (or equivalent);

  • 5 to 10 years' experience in structural engineering, with a solid focus on temporary works and construction engineering;

  • Good working knowledge of Australian standards and construction safety principles;

  • Confidence using structural analysis software, particularly Strand7, IdeaStatica, and SpaceGass;

  • A track record of developing practical, buildable solutions under real site constraints;

  • Strong communication skills, especially when coordinating with site teams and contractors; and

  • A proactive, hands-on mindset when it comes to solving engineering problems.
