You’ll be part of a professional project team delivering works in a correctional facility where safety, compliance and clear communication are paramount.
The Opportunity
As the Site Representative (AO6/1) you will oversee the day-to-day coordination of construction works delivered by the Managing Contractor, acting on behalf of the Superintendent and their representative. You’ll conduct daily inspections, verify that works meet approved documentation and management plans, track progress against the construction programme, ensure Building Act compliance inspections are completed and recorded and support on-site contract administration (claims, variations, EOTs, RFIs).
Key responsibilities
Undertake daily site inspections and maintain accurate records;
Verify works against drawings, specs and approved management plans;
Review progress against the approved construction programme and flag slippage;
Ensure Building Act compliance inspections occur and are documented;
Communicate potential time / cost / quality issues with clients and project team; and
Assist the Superintendent’s Representative with payment claims, variations, EOTs & RFIs.
Required Experience
You’re a practical, site-confident leader with a strong safety mindset and excellent stakeholder skills, comfortable operating in complex, live environments.
What you’ll bring
Degree in Engineering or relevant tertiary qualification; TAFE/trade backgrounds considered;
5+ years delivering large commercial construction projects;
Proven contracts administration experience;
White Card and current driver’s licence; and
Ability to obtain Queensland Corrective Services clearances.
Highly regarded
Prior experience as a site representative / manager; and
Experience in live, high-security or critical facilities (correctional centres, hospitals, airports).
