u&u Recruitment Partners are proud to partner with Mackay Regional Council to appoint a Strategic Sourcing & Contracts Coordinator.

Mackay Regional Council services a community of over 120,000 residents and manages a significant and diverse asset base across one of Queensland’s key regional economies. The organisation operates in a dynamic environment, delivering critical infrastructure and services to support regional growth.

This role sits within Council’s procurement function and plays a key part in ensuring robust sourcing, contract management and commercial outcomes across a broad range of projects. You will contribute to strengthening procurement capability, governance and performance across the organisation.

The Role

Reporting to the Chief Procurement Officer, the Strategic Sourcing & Contracts Coordinator will lead and support the delivery of end-to-end sourcing and contract administration activities.

Key responsibilities include:

• Leading tendering and sourcing processes across operational and capital projects;

• Providing commercial advice on procurement strategy, contract terms and risk allocation;

• Managing contract establishment, negotiation and administration activities;

• Overseeing contract performance, compliance and reporting across relevant systems;

• Supporting continuous improvement of procurement processes, templates and frameworks; and

• Leading and mentoring contract officers and administration staff.

About You

You are an experienced procurement or contracts professional with the ability to operate across both strategic and operational environments.

You will bring:

• Demonstrated experience managing end-to-end sourcing and contract management processes;

• Strong commercial acumen, including contract negotiation and risk management capability;

• Experience working with contract management systems and procurement frameworks;

• Ability to lead or mentor teams and influence outcomes across stakeholders; and

• Sound understanding of contract law, governance and compliance requirements.
