IT Technical Business Analyst

12-Month Fixed Term Contract | Hybrid | Education Sector

We are currently seeking an experienced IT Technical Business Analyst to join a leading organisation within the education sector on a 12-month fixed term contract.

This is an exciting opportunity to work across a range of technology and business workstreams, supporting complex implementation and expansion initiatives across applications, infrastructure, integrations, data, security and operational processes.

About the role

You will be responsible for analysing, defining, documenting and validating business and technical requirements across multiple projects.

Working closely with business stakeholders, IT teams, vendors, Information Security and project delivery teams, you will translate business needs into clear technology requirements and practical delivery outcomes.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Lead requirements discovery, analysis and documentation;

• Facilitate workshops, interviews and stakeholder sessions;

• Develop business and functional requirements, user stories and acceptance criteria;

• Create process maps, use cases and requirements traceability artefacts;

• Analyse systems, data, integrations, reporting and operational requirements;

• Support solution design, options analysis and vendor evaluation;

• Analyse current and future-state processes and identify change impacts;

• Support UAT, test planning, defect triage and business acceptance;

• Work across security, privacy, data governance and compliance requirements;

• Support procurement activities and vendor workshops;

• Translate complex technical concepts into clear business requirements; and

• Work with stakeholders at all levels, including senior and Executive stakeholders.

About you

We are looking for a Technical Business Analyst, Systems Analyst or experienced Business Analyst with a strong background working in complex IT environments.

You will ideally bring:

• Strong experience gathering and documenting business and technical requirements;

• Experience across applications, infrastructure, integrations or enterprise systems;

• Strong skills in process mapping, user stories, acceptance criteria and test scenarios;

• Experience supporting technology implementation projects;

• Experience across Agile, Waterfall and/or hybrid delivery methodologies;

• Strong analytical, problem-solving and stakeholder engagement skills;

• Experience working with technical teams, vendors and business stakeholders;

• Experience supporting UAT, defect management and business acceptance;

• Understanding of privacy, information security and data governance;

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; and

• Experience with tools such as Microsoft 365, Jira, Confluence or Lucid.

Experience within higher education, vocational education, professional education or student-facing technology would be highly regarded.

Exposure to LMS, Student Management Systems, CRM, website platforms, data migration, reporting, APIs, identity and access management or SaaS implementations would also be advantageous.
