About the Role:
This is a 12-month fixed-term contract opportunity for an experienced Technical Project Manager to lead a newly formed Infrastructure & Platforms delivery squad within a large, complex enterprise environment.
Starting ASAP, this role will take ownership of a portfolio of critical infrastructure, security and platform uplift initiatives across a hybrid technology landscape. You will provide end-to-end delivery leadership while building and managing a dedicated 5-person technical squad.
This is not a traditional governance-only PM role. It requires a technically credible leader who can embed within the squad, introduce structured agile delivery practices, create visibility of work, and drive accountability across multiple concurrent infrastructure initiatives.
Based in the inner suburbs of Melbourne CBD, this role offers hybrid working arrangements.
Salary: $150,000 + super.
Key Responsibilities:
Establish and lead a cross-functional Infrastructure & Platforms delivery squad (approx. 5 technical specialists);
Drive structured agile ceremonies, visibility of tasks and delivery accountability within the squad;
Lead a portfolio of infrastructure and platform uplift projects of varying size and complexity;
Oversee initiatives including security uplift, disaster recovery readiness, OS upgrades, containerisation and endpoint management rollout;
Coordinate across Infrastructure, Cloud, Security and Service teams to manage interdependencies;
Manage risks, sequencing, financial tracking and stakeholder expectations;
Ensure initiatives are delivered securely, safely and in line with governance and compliance requirements; and
Support uplift in documentation standards, process discipline and operational maturity.
About You:
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
Proven experience delivering complex infrastructure and platform transformation programs;
Strong technical grounding in infrastructure environments (on-prem, cloud and hybrid ecosystems);
Experience leading embedded technical delivery teams or squads;
Confidence driving delivery in environments requiring cultural and pace uplift;
Experience managing multiple concurrent workstreams with competing stakeholder demands;
Ability to balance hands-on delivery leadership with strategic stakeholder engagement; and
Strong documentation, governance and risk management capability.
What’s on Offer:
12-month fixed-term contract with ASAP start;
$150,000 + super;
Hybrid working model in Melbourne’s inner CBD suburbs;
Opportunity to build and lead a newly established Infrastructure & Platforms squad;
High-visibility role driving critical uplift across security, resilience and platform maturity; and
Purpose-driven organisational environment with meaningful impact.
If you are a technically strong Project Manager who thrives leading embedded technical teams and delivering tangible infrastructure outcomes, this role offers immediate scope to make a measurable impact.
