Matt is a specialist in Software Engineering, leading the Software Engineering and Testing practice across permanent and interim markets. He has a keen interest in the evolution of technology and is closely observing the impact of AI across all aspects of the tech industry.

Matt has a unique background, having served in the Parachute Regiment in the UK, playing poker professionally for 7 years, whilst also earning a Degree in Sports Journalism before starting his recruitment career in London in Software Engineering.

Matt arrived in Sydney in 2016 and has been recruiting in technology ever since, so is well versed in the intricacies of software development, having partnered and built long term relationships with multiple clients in predominantly financial services over the last 8 years in Sydney.

He has successfully built out development teams with 86400 (Ubank), Macquarie, Westpac, ANZ, Vanguard et al, building trust utilising an authentic approach, consulting with Managers and Talent to understand the role and advise them what they need to hear, not what they want to hear. This has led to exclusive partnerships with clients who stick with Matt for the long-term and refer him to their peers based on the quality he delivers.
