As a former qualified Lawyer, Matt brings a unique perspective to the in house and private practice legal and governance mandates that he manages. With over 7 years’ experience recruiting for major law firms and ASX listed, multinational, government, private and public corporations, Matt has handled numerous executive level General Counsel, Company Secretary, Senior Legal Counsel and Legal Counsel mandates. Matt has over 7,000 active LinkedIn connections and has successfully recruited over 200 roles across all levels.

Notably, Matt has a large number of candidates that have become active clients, a testament to his high touch, insightful and caring processes. He is proud to have managed six separate mandates over a three year period for an ASX listed client in the financial services and infrastructure sector. Matt has been quoted in the AFR and has been invited to provide commentary on the state of the legal landscape in Australia by multiple international law firms.

In addition to search and sourcing, Matt also provides a range of consulting services including “state of the market” assessments, and strategic advice relating to in-house legal team structuring, retention strategy and talent pipeline management. Matt hosts a number of events quarterly which range from General Counsel roundtables, to ESG guest speakers and general networking gatherings. As a result, Matt has built a strong reputation in Melbourne as a connector of legal talent and someone who diligently upholds client and candidate confidentiality.

He has captained semi-professional sporting teams; is a dedicated husband and father of three boys and passionate about mindfulness, leadership and gratitude.
