Nicky is our Delivery Lead in our Information Technology practice at u&u. Nicky works across all verticals within IT, ensuring a focus on exceptional candidate care and processes.
She has over 20 years’ recruitment experience, having commenced her career in the UK. She has worked as an internal recruiter for large private sector organisations and has over 10 years’ recruitment experience within the IT sector. With a balance of both internal and agency recruitment, she offers a strong level of market knowledge along with a sound business understanding of the value of attracting and retaining top talent.

My favourite unique travel destination?This has to be Annecy, one of the most picturesque cities in the world, situated in the South of France on the Swiss border. It is known as the ‘Venice of the Alps’. It is amazing to sit at a coffee shop and take in the stunning architecture, cobblestone streets and the quaint colourful houses overlooking the canals with a backdrop of Lake Annecy and the Swiss Alps. I have to say though, I am in my most happy place when I am being active in nature. I love climbing mountains in the beautiful Lake District of Cumbria, in England.
The best advice you’ve been given?The advice that Baz Luhrmann dispenses in his song ‘Sunscreen’ is quite profound. If you haven’t listened to the lyrics, take the time to listen, and the older you get the more it resonates with you. In particular, don’t waste your energy worrying about things out of your control, or the future, your real troubles will be the ones that blindside you on some idle Tuesday afternoon!
If you had to choose your last meal on earth, what would it be?I would have my mum come back to this earth for a night and cook me her amazingly delicious meat and potato pie with the best short-crust pastry ever and lashings of gravy.
What would you tell your younger self when finding your first job?Choose something that you are good at, that you enjoy and that will make you money!
