Based on the Sunshine Coast, you'll join a collaborative finance team where you'll gain exposure across financial accounting, compliance, taxation, audit and process improvement, while working in a business that genuinely invests in the development of its people.
What you'll be Doing
Reporting to the Financial Accounting Team Manager, you'll play a key role in delivering accurate financial reporting and maintaining strong financial controls across the business. Your responsibilities will include:
Preparing month-end journals, balance sheet reconciliations and financial reports;
Analysing financial results and ensuring the integrity of the general ledger;
Completing indirect tax obligations including BAS, FBT and other statutory returns;
Supporting internal and external audit processes;
Identifying and implementing process improvement initiatives;
Maintaining strong internal controls and ensuring compliance with accounting standards;
Mentoring an Assistant Accountant and supporting their ongoing development; and
Assisting with finance projects and broader business initiatives as required.
About You
To be successful in this role, you'll ideally bring:
CA or CPA qualification;
Previous experience in a financial accounting role or External Audit;
Strong month-end reporting and reconciliation experience;
Knowledge of GST and indirect taxation;
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills;
Advanced Excel skills and strong attention to detail;
The ability to build relationships across the business and communicate with a range of stakeholders; and
A proactive mindset with a genuine desire to improve processes.
