About the company

South Bank Corporation is the renowned place manager behind Brisbane's premier recreational, cultural, educational and entertainment precinct. With a vision to be a world-leading urban precinct that welcomes, engages and inspires, we are committed to innovating, managing and maintaining our enviable reputation while recognising the growing demand for green space in Brisbane's inner city.

As Brisbane prepares to host Brisbane 2032, South Bank Corporation plays a pivotal role in ensuring our iconic precinct is ready to showcase Brisbane and Queensland on the world stage. This Strategic Planner role presents an opportunity to be part of planning to position South Bank that will leave a lasting legacy for generations to come.

About the role

South Bank is one of Brisbane's most iconic precincts and this role sits at the heart of shaping its future approach to strategic asset management.

As the Asset Intelligence & Systems Lead, you'll lead the charge in shaping how asset information is captured, governed and used across the organisation. This isn't a "maintain the status quo" position, they are actively evaluating and implementing a new Asset Management Information System (AMIS) and you'll own that process from roadmap through to delivery.

Day to day, you'll be the bridge between the asset engineering teams, Finance, IT, Procurement and GIS.  You will see to it that data flows seamlessly across systems and actually means something when it reaches a decision-maker. You'll dig into current-state processes, identify where things can be smarter or more automated and develop the governance and reporting frameworks that keep the data trustworthy and useful.

Key focus areas include

  • Leading the assessment and implementation of a fit-for-purpose AMIS (including evaluation of Asset Vision, currently in trial);

  • Driving integration between asset, finance, procurement and spatial systems;

  • Building a culture of data-driven decision making through data analytics and data quality processes: validation, auditing, monitoring across our asset portfolio;

  • Developing dashboards, KPIs and reporting frameworks that turn data into genuine insight; and

  • Mapping current and future-state workflows to support continuous improvement.

This is a role where technical credibility matters, but so does the ability to bring people along with you.

About you

You're someone who gets genuinely excited about making data work harder. You understand that good asset management decisions start with good information, and you have the skills and drive to make that happen.

You'll bring

  • A background in Engineering, Asset Management, Information Systems, Data Analytics or a related field;

  • Hands-on experience administering or implementing Asset Management Information Systems (familiarity with Asset Vision is a bonus, but not a dealbreaker);

  • Proven data governance capabilities, with hands-on experience translating data quality frameworks from theory into practice;

  • Experience in data analytics, building dashboards and reports that people actually use (Power BI experience highly regarded);

  • Comfort working with GIS / spatial platforms;

  • A process improvement mindset: you spot inefficiencies and know how to fix them; and

  • The communication skills to translate complex technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders.

You're comfortable working across different teams and disciplines.  You are equally at ease mapping business processes with operational staff as you are analysing data or working through system requirements with IT.   Your strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills will be important in this role, as will the ability to manage competing priorities across a complex programme of work.
