Our client is a well-established, privately owned company that specialises in the hire and sales of a wide range of solutions used in the site set up for construction and infrastructure projects, and large-scale events.  Over the last two decades, this dynamic, customer focused organisation has experienced continual steady growth, and they now operate a conveniently placed network of branches all over Australia and New Zealand. As part of the company’s ongoing growth plans there is currently an opportunity for an experienced sales professional to join the company’s team in SEQ as the Business Development Manager. 
 
The role
 
Reporting to the QLD State Manager, the Business Development Manager forms part of a close-knit sales team operating in SEQ, and will focus on managing an existing pipeline of projects and customers, while actively searching for and securing new business to achieve ongoing growth targets.
 
More specifically, some of your key areas of focus and involvement will be the following;

  • Managing and growing sales revenue with a portfolio of tier 2 and tier 3 commercial builders operating in SEQ;

  • Identifying, tracking and securing supply contracts for commercial construction projects;

  • Building close working relationships with key decision makers to keep abreast of future projects to secure ongoing work;

  • Managing customer accounts effectively by providing relevant information around industry legislation and safety requirements;

  • Contributing to national sales strategy by cross selling opportunities and executing strategies that drive revenue growth and market share;

  • Developing and executing account plans and collaborating with internal teams to deliver profitable projects;

  • Coordinating with the company’s logistics and operations team to ensure project requirements are met; and

  • Forecasting, project tracking, CRM maintence and reporting.

Required Experience

  • Prior experience in a similar Business Development role within the commercial construction or a related industry;

  • Demonstrated ability to win new business and achieve sales targets;

  • Highly motivated and resilient by nature, with a demonstrated history of achieving growth;

  • Well-developed commercial, negotiation and problem-solving skills;

  • Demonstrated ability to work with internal stakeholders to coordinate projects and deliver customer satisfaction;

  • Strong planning and time management skills, coupled with a high attention to detail; and

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Sound IT skills
