Our client is a privately owned company that has a history of strong growth, and services the mining, civil construction, transport and quarrying sector with rent to purchase finance solutions for capital equipment. The company’s business model and solution is suited to both small and large contractors, giving them a flexible solution that gets them into equipment quickly, without the need for a traditional loan on their balance sheet. The organisation is founded and run by an experienced and accomplished leadership team who have invested in backend automation and systems, and through their guidance, the company experienced strong growth over the past three to four years. Due to expansion, there is currently a newly created opportunity to join the organisation in the role of Business Development Manager.
The Role
Based in Brisbane or the Gold Coast, the position will focus on further developing the business and marketing the company’s solutions into the civil, mining, quarry and transport sector, throughout Brisbane and the Gold Coast and into New South Wales, with a focus on the Hunter Valley region.
More specifically, you will be involved in the following;
Actively networking with current and prospective clients who include end user contractors, equipment finance brokers and OEM dealers;
Providing current and prospective clients with education and training on the benefits of rent to purchase over traditional finance or hire;
Building, managing and closing a pipeline of sales opportunities to achieve targets;
Working with the leadership team to develop and implement marketing and growth strategies;
Ensuring relevant compliance processes, systems and documentation is met and completed;
Represent the company at industry events and trade shows;
Maintain the company’s CRM and asset tracking systems; and
Assist in the development and training of staff as the company grows.
Necessary Skills / Experience
5+ years of demonstrated success in sales and business development;
Prior experience in equipment hire, capital equipment or asset finance industries would be a benefit;
Highly motivated, driven and passionate to hunt, grow and win new business;
Prior experience selling to and existing networks with civil, mining earth moving contractors;
An outgoing and engaging style with exceptional relationship building and communication skills;
A sound financial acumen with the ability to communicate the company’s value position and the benefits rent to purchase;
Well-developed territory planning, prioritizing and time management skills;
Sound computer skills with a working knowledge of modern CRM’s and the MS suite; and
Capable of working autonomously and willing to travel a week per month.
