About the Company

Our client is a well-established mid-tier construction company with a strong reputation for quality delivery and a genuine, supportive culture. Having operated in the SEQ market for over 30 years, they've built specialist expertise across the industrial, retail, and commercial sectors. We're recruiting an experienced Construction Manager as they continue on a growth trajectory, investing in the leadership team to drive it. This role sits at the heart of that plan, with a seat at the leadership table and real influence over how the business operates.

About the Role

This is a senior leadership position overseeing the successful delivery of multiple projects.  This is not a hands-on, single-project delivery role. You'll set the standards, sequencing strategy, and expectations that your project teams deliver against, then hold them to account and step in when it counts.

  • Set programme strategy and sequencing logic across allocated projects, reviewing and approving programmes developed by your Project Managers;

  • Own site-wide HSEQ culture and quality standards, backed by your HSEQ Manager's systems;

  • Act as the escalation point when site issues exceed your project teams' authority, including programme, safety, quality, subcontractor, or client matters;

  • Lead, mentor and hold accountable a team of Project Managers, Site Managers, Foremen and your HSEQ Manager;

  • Represent the business at client and project control group level, building confidence in your delivery teams; and

  • Contribute to the broader strategic direction of the business as part of the leadership group.

About You

You've built your career from the ground up.  You started on site and worked your way through Site Management and Project Management before stepping into (or being ready to step into) a broader leadership role. You know what good site performance looks like because you've delivered it yourself, and now you're ready to set the standard for others rather than run the tools day-to-day.

  • Strong track record delivering construction projects in QLD up to $50m;

  • Trade or tertiary qualification in construction, engineering or building (or equivalent experience);

  • Solid grounding in HSEQ standards and construction programming / scheduling;

  • A natural leader who commands credibility on site and knows when to let a team run and when to step in;

  • Sharp judgement, a hands-on instinct balanced with the discipline to lead through others; and

  • A clear communicator who works well across commercial, pre-construction and delivery teams.

If your site experience has set you up to lead rather than just deliver, we'd like to hear from you.
