BEDA is looking for a Corporate Communications and Media Partner to support the Tourism and Events team on a 13-month contract and help tell BEDA’s story in powerful, compelling ways.

About the Role

Reporting into the Head of Corporate Communication, you will partner with BEDA’s Tourism and Events team to design and deliver integrated corporate communications that support the city’s ambitions.
Your duties will include, but not be limited to:

  • Develop content, media materials and corporate communication that amplifies Brisbane’s tourism, events, and industry initiatives;

  • Lead PR and communications plans across event announcements, industry programs and stakeholder engagement;

  • Create high-quality content including media releases, speeches, social posts, briefing notes, EDMs, content plans and campaign reports. Experience in capturing and editing video content highly regarded;

  • Identify and secure proactive media opportunities that elevate the city’s profile;

  • Manage media requests, stakeholder communications and relationships with agency partners;

  • Support strategy and day-to-day management of BEDA’s corporate social channels and website content;

  • Build trusted relationships with internal teams, industry leaders and government partners; and

  • Bring fresh, creative thinking and a proactive mindset to a fast-paced environment where attention to detail matters.

What you will bring:

  • A bachelor’s degree in communications, Journalism and / or Business;

  • Experience working in fast-paced media industries such as tourism, sport or agency highly regarded;

  • Proven experience developing and successfully implementing communications plans and media liaison;

  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with confidence to seek new connection; and

  • Excellent writing and storytelling skills creating content across a range of channels for use by senior leaders.

  • Exceptional eye for detail.
