About the Role
We're seeking an experienced Construction Site Manager to lead residential building projects from inception through to completion. This hands-on leadership position combines strategic project oversight with practical site management, requiring someone who can balance technical carpentry expertise with strong organisational and people management skills.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan, organise, and oversee all phases of residential construction projects;
Supervise on-site teams and subcontractors, ensuring safety compliance and quality standards;
Conduct regular site inspections and resolve issues promptly to maintain project momentum;
Apply carpentry skills to contribute to and oversee framing, cabinetry, and construction activities;
Monitor budgets and resource allocation across projects;
Communicate directly with clients, providing updates and ensuring satisfaction throughout the build process;
Implement quality control measures and ensure compliance with building codes and specifications;
Maintain comprehensive project documentation and provide regular progress reports; and
Lead safety protocols, conduct site inductions, and foster a positive work environment.
About You
You're a seasoned construction professional who combines hands-on carpentry skills with proven project management capabilities. You excel in leadership roles and are committed to delivering quality outcomes on every project.
Essential Requirements:
Substantial high end residential (or new build commercial) construction experience with strong carpentry background;
Demonstrated ability to supervise teams and coordinate subcontractors;
Thorough knowledge of building codes, regulations, and quality standards;
Excellent communication skills with stakeholders at all levels;
Strong organisational abilities and attention to detail;
Proven commitment to workplace safety and compliance; and
Professional presentation and ethical approach to work.
