This is an opportunity to build and shape the future of enterprise data capability within one of Queensland’s largest and most purpose-driven organisations.
u&u Recruitment Partners are proud to be partnering with one of our key clients to recruit a General Manager – Data & Insights, a newly created executive leadership role responsible for establishing the strategy, governance, operating model and data foundations that will enable better decisions, improved services and greater community impact.
This is a rare opportunity for a senior data leader to build something significant, establish a modern enterprise data capability and create a lasting legacy.
The opportunity to shape the future:
As the General Manager – Data & Insights, you will establish the strategic direction, operating model and capability required to mature the organisation’s enterprise data function.
Key responsibilities include:
Define and deliver the enterprise data strategy, roadmap and governance framework;
Build a high-performing data function, establishing the capability, standards and operating model required for long-term success;
Lead the evolution of enterprise data platforms, governed data products and analytics capabilities;
Establish trusted data practices across quality, governance, lineage, security and privacy;
Partner with executives and business leaders to translate organisational priorities into data-driven insights and outcomes; and
Create the foundations required for responsible AI adoption through strong governance, data quality and control frameworks.
What makes a difference for the organisation?
The successful candidate will be an experienced data leader who can combine strategic vision, technical credibility and organisational influence to build an enterprise-wide capability.
The successful candidate will bring:
Senior leadership experience across enterprise data strategy, governance, platforms, analytics or major transformation programs;
A proven ability to establish scalable and trusted data capabilities within complex or federated organisations;
Strong executive stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence Boards, Executives and senior leaders; and
Experience connecting data strategy to measurable organisational outcomes.
Why this opportunity is different:
The successful candidate will not simply inherit an established data function and optimise it. They will shape it.
You will sit at the intersection of data, technology, business strategy, analytics and artificial intelligence, with the opportunity to influence how a major Queensland organisation uses data to improve services and outcomes for communities.
