An opportunity has become available for an experienced Head of Finance to join a growing organisation operating within the technology lifecycle, data security and sustainability sector.
Reporting directly to the CEO and forming part of the Senior Leadership Team, this is the most senior finance position within the business. You will take ownership of the finance function, balancing strategic financial oversight with a willingness to remain hands-on across reporting, cash flow, compliance and the day-to-day operation of finance.
This role will suit an experienced Finance Manager or Head of Finance who enjoys working closely with a CEO and broader leadership team, while still being close enough to the numbers to understand what is happening across the business.
The Role
You will be responsible for leading the accounting function and providing accurate, timely financial information to support business decision-making.
Key responsibilities will include:
Leading and developing the finance function;
Preparing monthly financial reporting and KPI dashboards for the CEO;
Managing budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis;
Preparing and managing cash flow forecasts;
Financial consolidations across the group;
Maintaining strong financial controls and accurate general ledger reporting;
Managing statutory and taxation requirements including BAS, PAYG and TPAR;
Oversight of accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll and banking;
Foreign exchange management;
Managing insurance renewals and associated requirements;
Working closely with internal and external stakeholders across the business;
Supporting continuous improvement across finance systems, processes and reporting; and
Taking the lead on financial due diligence for potential M&A activity, supported by external consultants where required.
About You
This is a broad role, so we are looking for someone who is equally comfortable leading the finance function and getting into the detail when required.
You will ideally bring:
A relevant tertiary qualification in Accounting, with CA or CPA qualification;
Strong experience in a Finance Manager, Financial Controller or Head of Finance capacity;
A solid technical accounting foundation with strong Australian taxation and compliance knowledge;
Experience managing cash flow, budgeting, forecasting and management reporting;
Strong understanding of financial controls and multi-entity environments;
Experience leading an accounting or finance team;
Confidence partnering directly with a CEO and senior stakeholders;
Strong systems capability, with experience across accounting ERP systems; and
A proactive, collaborative and commercially minded approach.
The Opportunity
This is an opportunity to take ownership of a broad finance function within an established and evolving business. You will have direct access to the CEO, genuine visibility across the organisation and the opportunity to influence how finance supports the business as it continues to grow.
